1/2 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup hot water
2 2/3 cups white flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Cream butter, add sugar, beaten eggs & maple syrup. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and ginger. Add to butter mixture alternating with hot water and vanilla. Fold into greased and floured 9 X 12 inch pan. Bake in at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. spread 1/4 cup maple syrup or sprinkle maple cinnamon sugar over hot cake. Yummy!
